NOVELTY - Adhesive comprises 10-30 pts. wt. formaldehyde, 150-250 pts. wt. melamine, 150-250 pts. wt. aqueous ammonia, 300-450 pts. wt. urea, 1-3 pts. wt. polyvinyl alcohol, 2-4 pts. wt. modified graphene, and 4-6 pts. wt. silicate-containing inorganic filler. USE - The adhesive is useful for improving compressive property of plywood. ADVANTAGE - The adhesive: can significantly increase the bonding strength of the plywood when used for the plywood; and produces plywood having excellent mechanical properties and strong compressive performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparation of the adhesive, comprising (i) preparing formaldehyde into formaldehyde aqueous solution, adding modified graphene, and ultrasonically dispersing; (ii) adjusting pH to 7-8, heating to 70-80degreesC, adding the first part of urea, melamine and aqueous ammonia, and reacting for 60-70 minutes; (iii) adjusting pH to 4-5, adding the second part of urea, and stirring for 50-60 minutes; and (iv) adding third part of urea, polyvinyl alcohol and silicate-containing inorganic filler, reacting for 20-30 minutes, adjusting the pH to 7-8, naturally cooling to room temperature, and dehydrating to obtain the adhesive.
