NOVELTY - A secondary battery comprises an anode, a cathode and a separator placed between the cathode and the anode. The anode comprises a cathode current collector and a cathode material layer containing carbon-based active material and silicon-based active material. The battery has low-limit state of charge (SOC) based on mixing weight ratio of the silicon-based active material and the carbon-based active material, and the capacity ratio of the silicon-based active material and the carbon-based active material. USE - Secondary battery e.g. lithium metal secondary battery, lithium-ion secondary battery, and lithium polymer secondary battery for electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and power storage devices. ADVANTAGE - The secondary battery has excellent electrical conductivity and cycle characteristics. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for method of driving the secondary battery.
