NOVELTY - Low-expansion silicon-carbon cathode material is claimed. The silicon carbon anode material is core-shell structure composed of a silicon-oxygen inner core, an intermediate layer coated on the surface of the silicon-oxygen core, and an outer layer coated on the surface of the intermediate layer. The intermediate layer is porous carbon material. The outer layer is phosphorus-doped graphene. USE - The low-expansion silicon-carbon cathode material is useful for lithium-ion batteries (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The low-expansion silicon-carbon cathode material: utilizes porous carbon material to reduce expansion of silicon during charging and discharging process; and has high electronic conductivity, carbon deposition, high density and excellent coating uniformity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of low-expansion silicon-carbon cathode material. The method utilizes solvent and oxidant. The solvent includes ethanol, acetone, ethylene glycol and/or cyclohexane. The oxidant is hydrogen peroxide.
