NOVELTY - Preparing graphene quantum dot material comprises (i) heating a carbon source, where the carbon source is an ester of a polycarboxylic acid molecule to obtain crude product of a graphene quantum dot material, (ii) cooling the crude product of the graphene quantum dot material, dispersing the cooled product in a dispersion solvent to obtain a dispersion liquid A of the graphene quantum dot, (iii) adding precipitating agent to the dispersion liquid A of the graphene quantum dots, centrifuging and separating the precipitated product, dispersing the centrifuged product in a dispersion solvent again to obtain a dispersion liquid B of graphene quantum dots and (iv) drying the graphene quantum dot dispersion B to obtain product. USE - The method is useful for preparing graphene quantum dot material. ADVANTAGE - The method has a high boiling point, achieves uniform carbonization of the carbon source by simple heating without using any solvent, has no special requirements for the heating atmosphere and carbonization pressure, has high carbonization efficiency, is environmentally friendly, prevents possible side reactions between the solvent and the carbon source and simplifies the separation and purification process of the product. The material has good lipophilicity and high ultraviolet absorption characteristics. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for graphene quantum dot material.
