NOVELTY - Ternary composite photocatalyst comprises 1-20 wt.% tantalum pentoxide, 0.5-5 wt.% reduced graphene nanosheets and graphitic carbon nitride (remaining amount). USE - The ternary composite photocatalyst is useful in catalytic degradation of Congo red and tetracycline TC under visible light (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The ternary composite photocatalyst has high photoelectron separation rate and excellent performance, broadens optical response range and exhibits excellent photocatalytic performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing ternary composite photocatalyst comprising (i) measuring absolute ethanol, adding rotor containing beaker, then adding reduced graphene nanosheets, stirring to disperse evenly, adding ethanol suspension of the reduced graphene nanosheets, weighing tantalum pentachloride, adding ethanol suspension of reduced graphene nanosheets, stirring to dissolve to obtain mixed solution, adding mixture into dry polytetrafluoroethylene reactor, carrying out thermostatic reaction, after cooling to room temperature, washing with anhydrous ethanol and separating, adding into absolute ethanol/water mixture to obtain alcoholic aqueous suspension of the reduced graphene nanosheets loaded with tantalum pentoxide, and (ii) weighing carbon nanotubes, adding into aqueous suspension of the reduced graphene nanosheets obtained by loading tantalum pentoxide, stirring, then performing ultrasound treatment and then transferring into dry polytetrafluoroethylene reactor, cooling to room temperature, washing mixture with water and anhydrous ethanol, separating and allowing to stand in a dry box and drying to obtain final product.
