NOVELTY - Preparing bifunctional catalytic electrode comprises soaking the first metal in the salt solution of the second metal, carrying out spontaneous replacement reaction and corrosion reaction to obtain the complex of the second metal and the first metal hydroxide, and loading the complex on the first metal, where the first metal is foamed metal, metal foil, metal sheet or metal/carbon complex material, where when the first metal is foamed metal, taking the first metal as substrate, the complex is loaded on the first metal to form a bifunctional catalytic electrode, and when the first metal is metal foil, metal sheet or metal/carbon complex material, using gas diffusion layer material as substrate, and collecting the complex and coating on the gas diffusion layer material to form a bifunctional catalytic electrode. USE - The method is useful for preparing bifunctional catalytic electrode, which is useful for hydrogen oxidation and reduction (claimed). DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for a bifunctional catalytic electrode prepared by above mentioned preparation method.
