NOVELTY - Carboxyl-modified graphene oxide-incorporated amine-functionalized zirconium metal organic framework composite material comprises 9 %mass, 17 %mass, 23 %mass, 33 %mass, 44 %mass or 50 %mass graphene oxide modified by chloroacetic acid and amine-functionalized zirconium metal organic framework. USE - The composite material is used as adsorbent for recovering rare earth metal neodymium (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composite material adsorbent has simple preparation method, strong regeneration ability, excellent stability, high adsorption capacity for neodymium(III) and maximum adsorption capacity of 146 mg. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a method for preparing the carboxyl-modified graphene oxide-incorporated amine-functionalized zirconium metal organic framework composite material, which involves (i) mixing concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated phosphoric acid and graphite powder in an ice bath and stirring for 20 minutes, dripping potassium permanganate, heating the solution to 313-333 K, reacting for 5-6 hours, cooling the solution to room temperature, dripping the solution to ice water, stirring, dripping hydrogen peroxide until the color of the solution changes from yellow to golden yellow, and stopping dripping to obtain golden yellow material which is graphene oxide, (ii) centrifuging the graphene oxide, washing with water until neutral, drying, dissolving the graphene oxide in water, ultrasonically processing at room temperature for 1-2 hours, adding sodium hydroxide and chloroacetic acid, ultrasonically dispersing, adjusting the pH of the solution to neutral, washing with water, and drying to obtain carboxyl-modified graphene oxide, (iii) dissolving zirconium tetrachloride and 2-aminoterephthalic acid in N,N-dimethylformamide, adding glacial acetic acid, ultrasonically dispersing the solution, placing the solution in a reaction kettle, reacting, cooling to room temperature after the reaction, placing the product in N,N-dimethylformamide and stirring for 1 hour, centrifuging, washing with methanol, and drying under vacuum at 333 K to obtain amine-functionalized zirconium metal organic framework, and (iv) adding amine-functionalized zirconium metal organic framework and carboxyl-modified graphene oxide to N,N-dimethylformamide, ultrasonically processing for 20 minutes, stirring and centrifuging the solution at room temperature, washing the product with methanol and water, drying at 323 K, placing the dried product in the reaction kettle, adding 30-50 ml water to perform hydrothermal reaction, centrifugally drying the grey product to obtain the product; and (2) use of the carboxyl-modified graphene oxide-incorporated amine-functionalized zirconium metal organic framework composite material as an adsorbent for recovering rare earth metal neodymium.
