NOVELTY - Preparing graphene-based titanium dioxide nano composites involves adding sodium nitrate to concentrated sulfuric acid in ice-water bath with stirring to obtain solution. The graphite powder is added to obtained solution with stirring to obtain mixed solution. The potassium permanganate is added with obtained mixed solution with stirring to obtain thick slurry. The deionized water is added slowly with stirring to obtained thick slurry to dilute and heated. The deionized water is added again to dilute the concentrated slurry and added hydrogen peroxide with stirring to obtain mixed solution. USE - Method for preparing graphene-based titanium dioxide nano composites for removing humic acids from rural drinking water (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare graphene-based titanium dioxide nano composites in simple, cost effective, eco-friendly manner, using raw materials that are easy to obtain. The product has large specific surface area and capable of absorbing organic matter. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing graphene-based titanium dioxide nano composites involves adding sodium nitrate to concentrated sulfuric acid in ice-water bath with stirring to obtain solution. The obtained mixed solution is centrifuged and seperated supernatant. The precipitate is washed with hydrochloric acid and deionized water in turn. The washed precipitate is dispersed ultrasonically in water to obtain stable graphene oxide solution. The ammonium fluorotitanate and boric acid is added with obtained graphene oxide solution with stirring and heated under water bath. The heated mixture is filtered and the precipitate is washed and dried in muffle furnace to obtain graphene-based titanium dioxide nanocomposite material.
