NOVELTY - A porous 3D graphene structure (102) for use as a porous wick medium in thermal systems to enhance thermal performance, is claimed. USE - The porous 3D graphene structure is used as a porous wick medium in thermal systems to enhance thermal performance. The thermal systems are vapor chambers or heat pipes used in electronic devices (claimed). The porous 3D graphene structure is used in sensing, detecting, tissue engineering, and environmental applications. ADVANTAGE - The porous 3D graphene structure enhances thermal performance in the vapor chambers. The porous 3D graphene structure has high thermal conductivity and high porous structure favorable for vapor chamber devices. The porous 3D graphene structure has low mass density, large surface area, good mechanical stability, high thermal and electrical conductivity. The porous 3D graphene structure decreases the thermal resistance of the system and increases the cooling performance of the vapor chamber. The 3D structure fabrication process does not detriment the base metallic surface structure and profile. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a vapor chamber (100) comprising a metallic housing (101), a porous wick medium coated on the inside walls of the metallic housing, where the porous wick medium comprises a 3D graphene structure.
