NOVELTY - Producing a cathode active material including graphene-silicon complex comprises combining single or multiple silicon-containing particles on a single or multiple reduced graphene oxide sheets by electrostatic attraction, and alternately stacking with each other to form primary graphene-silicon complex, drying the graphene oxide sheet and the silicon precursor after wet mixing in an organic solvent, preparing primary graphene-silicon complex formed of silicon-containing particles stacked on the reduced graphene oxide sheet by heat treatment at 250-350 degrees C, adding precursor of conductive carbon including 1-10 wt.% amorphous carbon precursor based on total weight of secondary graphene-silicon complex to the primary graphene-silicon complex, firing in an inert atmosphere for preparing secondary graphene-silicon complex. USE - The cathode active material is useful in lithium secondary battery as power sources for mobile electronic devices including mobile phones, and large devices e.g. electric vehicles. ADVANTAGE - The cathode active material has excellent conductivity, excellent safety and durability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) cathode active material prepared by above mentioned method; and (2) lithium secondary battery comprising cathode active material.
