NOVELTY - Polystyrene-acrylate nano core-shell emulsion comprises 50-90 pts. wt. fluorine-modified silica sol, 40-50 pts. wt. styrene, 40-50 pts. wt. acrylic monomer, 4-6 pts. wt. initiator, 10-20 pts. wt. emulsifier, 5-10 pts. wt. core layer monomer pre-emulsion, 5-10 pts. wt. shell monomer pre-emulsion, 1-5 pts. wt. pH adjuster, 10-20 pts. wt. fluorescent whitening agent, 20-30 pts. wt. graphene oxide and 30-50 pts. wt. water. USE - The emulsion is useful as water-based coating for metal protection (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The emulsion has high silicon content, good water resistance and good stability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing polystyrene-acrylate nano core-shell emulsion comprising mixing fluorine-modified silica sol, styrene, acrylic monomers, initiator, an emulsifier, a core layer monomer pre-emulsion and water under a protective atmosphere to perform an in-situ polymerization reaction to obtain a seed emulsion and mixing seed emulsion, the shell monomer pre-emulsion, the remaining styrene, the remaining acrylic monomer, the pH adjuster, the remaining initiator, the fluorescent whitening agent, and graphene oxide to perform a shell polymerization reaction to obtain the emulsion, where the styrene and remaining styrene in a mass ratio of 1.5-2.5: 1, the partial acrylic monomer and remaining acrylic monomer in a mass ratio of 1: 1.5-3 and the partial initiator and remaining initiator in a mass ratio of 4-5: 5-6.
