NOVELTY - Preparing lithium titanate composite material comprises mixing and granulating titanium source, lithium source, and first conductive agent to obtain a first raw material and a second raw material, the first raw material has a particle size D50 of 9-15 mu m, and the second raw material has a particle size D50 3-7 mu m, under an inert atmosphere, subjecting first raw material and second raw material to oxygen-free sintering to obtain a first sintered product and a second sintered product, and the lithium titanate composite material is a mixture of the first sintered product and the second sintered product. USE - The method is useful for preparing lithium titanate composite material. ADVANTAGE - The material: has relatively high compaction density, higher energy density and rate performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) lithium titanate composite material represented by Li4 Ti5 O12/C; (2) battery pole piece comprising a metal current collector and a conductive coating coated on the surface of the metal current collector, and material forming the conductive coating includes a lithium titanate composite material, a second conductive agent and a binder; and (3) lithium ion battery comprising a battery pole piece.
