NOVELTY - Graphene-based terahertz molecular detection device comprises a silicon dioxide substrate and a high surface area graphene film attached to the surface of the silicon dioxide substrate. The high surface area graphene film has specific surface area of greater than or equal to 30 m2/g, and defect Id/Ig of less than 8%. The graphene-based terahertz molecular detection device has electrical modulation. USE - The detection device is useful for detecting molecular residues, preferably micro-detection. ADVANTAGE - The detection device: has both high conductivity of graphite material and high specific surface area of graphene, excellent light absorption and electrical modulation. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing graphene-based terahertz molecular detection device. The method utilizes solid phase transfer agent.
