NOVELTY - Cathode material of lithium-ion battery comprises nickel-cobalt-manganese ternary material powder with a particle size of 8-12 mu m and coating with a lithium iron phosphate composite layer, where the lithium iron phosphate composite layer comprises lithium iron phosphate, carbon nanomaterials, carbon materials and auxiliary agents. The powder content of nickel-cobalt-manganese ternary material is 70-85%, lithium iron phosphate is 10-20%, 0.5-3.5% carbon nanomaterials, 0.5-5% carbon materials, and 0.2-5% adjuvant, where adjuvant is composed of a plugging agent to reduce the specific surface area of the composite material and a proppant to retain the material structure stable. USE - Used as cathode material of lithium-ion battery. ADVANTAGE - The lithium-ion battery cathode material has a high first effect and better compaction density, the first effect can be increased by 2-3.5%, reaching 93-95% of the first effect, and the number of 1C cycles increased by 20-30%. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing lithium-ion battery cathode material, comprises (i) coating lithium iron phosphate on the surface of the nickel-cobalt-manganese ternary material powder, carbon nanomaterials and other carbon materials get precursors, (ii) spray drying granulation, controlling the particle size between 8-12 mu m; (iii) introducing inert gas furnace for one-time sintering to obtain a lithium-ion battery composite cathode material with a particle size of 5-12 mu m, and (iv) adding an adjuvant for coating, and the adjuvant is composed of a plugging agent used to reduce the specific surface area of the composite material and a proppant used to keep the material structure stable.
