▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - The electrode (3) has a core (1) and a coating (2). The core is preferably made of copper, brass, molybdenum, tungsten or steel. The coating contains graphene coated on the core. The coating is made of a composite which includes zinc and/or copper. USE - Electrode, such as a wire electrode, a drilling electrode or a die-sinking electrode, for electrical discharge machines. ADVANTAGE - The electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and heat resistance of an electrical discharge machining (EDM) wire are increased by providing the EDM wire with a suitable coating, which protects the wire against thermal rupture. The graphene based coating improves electrical conductivity with respect to copper, which reduces line resistance and Joule effect losses, thus allowing an increased peak current in shorter pulse on-times which lead to a significant higher efficiency cutting. The improved thermal conductivity of graphene helps to spread and evacuate the thermal heat generated by the electric sparks towards the wire core and around the spark hot spot. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a manufacturing process for producing an electrode. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The drawing shows the cross-sectional view of a wire electrode. Core (1) Coating (2) Electrode (3)
