NOVELTY - Preparation of modified carbon fiber involves (S1) dipping desized carbon fiber in pyrenebutyric acid polyethylene glycol aqueous solution, drying to obtain carbon fiber modified by pyrenebutyric acid polyethylene glycol membrane, and (S2) soaking in graphene oxide water suspension, and drying. USE - Preparation of modified carbon fiber used as reinforcing material for preparing modified carbon fiber epoxy resin composite material (all claimed) used in aerospace, industry and civil use application. ADVANTAGE - The method introduces graphene oxide membrane on the surface of the carbon fiber with π-π as the force, so that the surface of the carbon fiber is chemically active and rough, which improves the wettability with the resin matrix, forms a firm interaction, and enhances the interfacial properties of the composite material. The method is efficient, simple and quick, does not damage the original structure of the carbon fiber, and avoids complex operations and treatments such as chemical grafting. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: modified carbon fiber, which comprises carbon fiber, pyrenebutyric acid polyethylene glycol aqueous solution coated on the surface of the carbon fiber, and graphene oxide membrane coated on the surface of the pyrenebutyric acid polyethylene glycol film; modified carbon fiber epoxy resin composite material, which comprises modified carbon fiber and epoxy resin glue impregnated in the modified carbon fiber. The epoxy resin glue comprises 100 pts. wt. epoxy resin and 32-35 pts. wt. curing agent; and preparation of modified carbon fiber epoxy resin composite material, which involves mixing epoxy resin with curing agent to obtain epoxy resin glue, mixing the modified carbon fiber with epoxy resin glue, and curing.
