NOVELTY - Electro-responsive multilayer nanofilms comprise a positively charged polymer layer comprising a polymer having positive charge with a high hydrolysis rate on a negatively charged electrode, DNA layer being formed on the positively charged polymer layer and having a negative charge, a graphene layer being formed on the DNA layer and comprising a reduced positively charged graphene oxide, and a conductive polymer layer being formed on the graphene layer and comprising a conductive polymer having a negative charge, or comprising a barrier layer of reduced graphene oxide. USE - The electro-responsive multilayer nanofilms are useful in DNA nanoswitch (claimed) and other DNA nanodevices. ADVANTAGE - The electro-responsive multilayer nanofilms have excellent electrical conductivity properties and thus releases DNA strands upon a low electrical stimulus. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) method for producing the nanofilms involves forming the positively charged polymer layer on a negatively charged-modified electrode, forming the DNA layer on the polymer layer, forming the graphene layer on the DNA layer, and forming the conductive polymer layer on the graphene layer; and (2) DNA nanoswitch comprising a DNA complementary to the DNA released from the nanofilms.
