NOVELTY - Porphyrin compound (I) is new. USE - (I) is useful as active material in anode material of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal ion secondary battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - (I): contains multiple active sites, has an ultra-high theoretical specific capacity, discharge voltage, and power density as electrode active material; has stable structure, good thermal stability, common and easily available materials, and low production cost; ensures the battery has excellent discharge specific capacity and excellent cycle stability; shows excellent energy density and power density, which has potential use value in the field of electrochemical energy storage. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Porphyrin compound of formula (I) is new. M = H, Cu, Zn, Co, Ni, Fe, Mg or Mn; A1-A4 = R1-C triple bond C-, or aryl moieties (1a)-(1c); R1-R5 = 1-10C alkyl chains or alkoxy (both carbon optionally substituted with aryl, alkenyl, alkynyl, hydroxy, amino, carbonyl, carboxy, ester, cyano ornitro, hydrogen optionally substituted with halo, aryl, alkenyl, alkynyl, hydroxy, amino, carbonyl, carboxy, ester, cyano or nitro,) or H; and X = O, N, S or Se. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) preparation of (I); and (2) use of porphyrin compound as active material in anode material of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal ion secondary battery, comprising fully grinding (I), conductive agent, and binder uniformly in a solvent to obtain anode slurry, applying it on the current collector, vacuum drying it as cathode, diaphragm assembling the battery with anode, lithium ion electrolyte, and a separator in an inert gas atmosphere, the cathode is alkali metals, alkali earth metals or intercalable compounds.
