NOVELTY - Catalyst comprises porous carrier, platinum supported on the pores of the porous carrier, and tungsten supported in a mixture with the platinum in the pores. USE - The catalyst is useful for hydrogen production. ADVANTAGE - The catalyst has improved dehydrogenation activity even at a low temperature. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for producing the catalyst, involving (a) supporting the platinum precursor solution and the tungsten precursor solution in the pores of the porous carrier and (b) reducing the porous carrier on which the platinum precursor solution and the tungsten precursor solution are supported, where the step (a) involves supporting a platinum precursor solution in the pores of the porous carrier, heat-treating the porous carrier on which the platinum precursor solution is supported, and supporting a tungsten precursor solution in the pores of the heat-treated porous carrier.
