NOVELTY - Porous scaffold comprises microspheres, which comprise a polymer blended with a graphene family material chosen from graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide, and/or their functionalized derivatives. USE - The porous scaffold is used for replacement and/or regeneration of bone tissue, where the replacement and/or regeneration of bone tissue comprises bone grafting procedures including the treatment of segmental bone loss caused by trauma, tumor excision, infection, non-unions, osteonecrosis or developmental deformities for long bone, spinal fusion, craniomaxillofacial, foot and ankle, dental and joint reconstruction (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The porous scaffold has biocompatible and biodegradable, serves as an effective scaffold for the replacement and regeneration of bone tissue, and has excellent mechanical properties, such as improved mechanical strength, stiffness, and toughness values.
