NOVELTY - Dehydrating dimethyl carbonate, comprises passing bifunctional composite catalyst including methanol adsorbent loaded with ester hydrolysis catalytic activity for hydrolyzing DMC and absorbing methanol, hydrolyzing DMC with trace water under the action of ester catalyst to produce methanol and carbon dioxide (CO2), where water content of DMC crude is not more than 200 ppm, and CO2is separated from DMC and discharged through exhaust port, methanol is adsorbed on adsorbent, thus promoting the hydrolysis of micro water in DMC, removing DMC water and hydrolysis product methanol, content of water and methanol in dehydrating DMC reaches or better than battery level requirement in which ester hydrolysis catalyst includes metal oxide cupric oxide (CuO), magnesium oxide (MgO) and heteropoly acid, and methanol adsorbent includes molecular sieves, activated carbon, aluminum oxide (Al2O3) base and graphene-based catalysts. USE - The method is useful for promoting hydrolysis and absorbing methanol (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method promotes the hydrolysis of DMC through catalyst, and absorbs the hydrolyzed product methanol.
