USE - The nanocomposite material is useful for degrading organic dye. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple, economical and environmentally friendly. The product has uniform appearance, has photocatalytic activity under visible light and ensures utilization of solar energy. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing cubic cuprous oxide/graphene nanocomposite material comprises (i) ultrasonic dispersing copper sulfate pentahydrate and graphene oxide in water, and mechanical stirring in a water bath at 50-60 degrees C for 20-30 minutes to obtain a first reaction solution; (ii) dropping 0.5-2 mol/l concentration sodium hydroxide solution to obtain second reaction solution; (iii) adding 0.1-0.5 mol/l concentration glucose solution to obtain third reaction solution; and (iv) maintaining the temperature of the third reaction solution at 50-60 degrees C, mechanical stirring for 2-3 hours to obtain suspension, centrifuging the suspension to obtain a precipitate, washing the precipitate and drying. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for use method of cubic cuprous oxide/graphene nanocomposite material in photocatalytic degradation, comprising taking cubic 20 g cuprous oxide/graphene nanocomposite, adding 100 ml concentration of 10 mg/ml of methyl orange, stirring in the dark for 20 minutes to achieve adsorption equilibrium, irradiating with visible light, sampling once for every 20 minutes and observing for total of 120 minutes.
