NOVELTY - Preparing graphene sheets, involves subjecting a precursor, to thermal treatment to produce graphene sheets, where the graphene sheets are conveyed in a closed system to a compression apparatus and are compressed with a pressure of 5-1000 psi. USE - For preparing graphene sheets (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method increases the bulk density of graphene sheets without significant restacking of the sheets and/or significantly affecting the surface area of the graphene sheets and/or their dispersability. The compressed graphite sheets have a bulk density of at least 0.05 (preferably at least 0.1) g/cm3.
