NOVELTY - Preparing high metal load platinum-carbon catalyst comprises (1) dissolving the conductive carbon carrier in polyol solution and adjusting the pH of the solution to greater than or equal to 9; (2) dissolving the platinum precursor in polyol solution and adjusting the pH of the solution to greater than or equal to 9; (3) evenly mixing the platinum precursor polyol solution and conductive carbon polyol solution; (4) heating to 120-160 degrees C and reacting for 4-10 hours; (5) cooling 20-50 degrees C, filtering, washing with hot water at 70-90 degrees C, drying, and granulating to obtain a powdered catalyst precursor; and (6) heating and activating the above-mentioned powdered catalyst precursor in reducing atmosphere to obtain a platinum-carbon catalyst. USE - The platinum-carbon catalyst is useful for fuel cell, petrochemical industry, chemical pharmacy, automobile tail gas purifying field.
