NOVELTY - Processing cutter with graphene coating, comprises e.g. (i) pre-forming powder raw material composed of 90-95 pts. wt. zirconia, 2-3 pts. wt. yttria and 1-2 pts. wt. rare earth oxide, (ii) carrying out low-temperature heat treatment of the pre-formed product at 1000 degrees C, (iii) subjecting obtained product to hot press vibration sintering at 1700 degrees C and 100 MPa pressure, (iv) grinding obtained blank into cutter, (v) spraying graphene solution composed of graphene paint and methyl ethyl ketone on cutter substrate by atomization, (vi) drying the obtained cutter with graphene coating, and cooling, (vii) sharpening the edge of the cutter, (viii) placing the obtained product in hot machine oil and boiling for 3 hours, then taking out and placing in quartz sand to cool to room temperature, and (ix) heating the surface of the cutter by light waves at 200-400 degrees C, and then cooling to eliminate thermal stress. USE - The method is useful for processing cutter with graphene coating. ADVANTAGE - The cutter: has higher strength; does not break easily; and contains graphene coating having breaking strength of 42 N/m2, tensile strength of 125 GPa, elastic modulus of 1.1 TPa and thermal conductivity of 5000 W/(mx K) at room temperature, which fills up the pits and grooves on the base body surface of the cutter, and thus reduces the friction coefficient of the cutter, makes the cutter more wear-proof during the cutting process and prolongs the service life of the cutter.
