NOVELTY - Use of nanotechnology-based coating for solar heaters having nanoparticles to enhance the absorption and retention of solar radiation, is claimed. USE - Nanotechnology-based coating for solar heaters to enhance absorption and retention of solar radiation, for improving the thermal performance of solar water heater. ADVANTAGE - The nanotechnology-based coating enhances absorption and retention of solar radiation, improves the thermal performance of solar water heater, reduces the heat loss during energy transfer, improves the overall efficiency of solar water heaters by up to 20% leading to significant energy savings, reduced environmental impact, and increases adoption of renewable energy technologies, sustainable and eco-friendly solutions for water heating, improves the durability and corrosion resistance of the storage tank leading to a longer lifespan, exhibits high thermal conductivity and enhances the heat transfer between the storage tank and the water, applying the nanocoating is simple and easily integrated into the manufacturing process of solar water heaters, reduces operating costs for solar water heaters, reduces environmental impact as the improved efficiency and energy savings, reduces the need for fossil fuel-based energy sources, improves the absorption of solar radiation even in low-light conditions, reduces maintenance requirements, results in further cost savings for users, promotes renewable energy and reduces carbon emissions. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) a solar water heater which comprises the coating applied to at least one of the absorber plate and the inner surface of the glass cover; and (2) a method for improving the thermal performance of a solar water heater which comprises applying the coating to the absorber plate and the inner surface of the glass cover.
