NOVELTY - Polyimide nanocomposite comprises a product obtained by healing defect of reduced graphene oxide functionalized with ring compound containing hetero ring and/or hetero atom, and polyimide. USE - The polyimide nanocomposite is useful in composite membrane (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The polyimide nanocomposite has improves dispersibility, thermal stability and mechanical properties. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for producing a polyimide nanocomposite comprising (a) reacting graphene oxide with ring compound containing hetero ring and/or hetero atom to obtain reduced graphene oxide functionalized with ring compound containing hetero ring and/or hetero atom, (b) performing an intra-molecular cross-dehydrogenative coupling reaction to obtain a defect healing product of reduced graphene oxide functionalized with ring compounds containing hetero ring and/or hetero atom, and (c) performing polymerization reaction of defect healing product and polyamic acid precursor, and then conducting an imidation reaction.
