NOVELTY - Copper oxide-graphene composite material preparation dissolving 1-10 pts. wt. graphene oxide into 100-1000 pts. wt. deionized water under ultrasonic dispersion to obtain graphene oxide dispersion, and then adding 25-125 pts. wt. copper nitrate trihydrate into 100 pts. wt. deionized water with stirring. The pH is adjusted with concentrated aqueous ammonia with stirring to form a stable copper ammonia solution. The cuprous ammonia solution is added to the graphene oxide dispersion with stirring at room temperature for 30-60 minutes. USE - Method for preparing copper oxide-graphene composite material used for adsorbing toxic gas molecules such as formaldehyde (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method prepares the copper oxide-graphene composite material in a simple and cost-effective manner with good application prospect. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Copper oxide-graphene composite material preparation dissolving 1-10 pts. wt. graphene oxide into 100-1000 pts. wt. deionized water under ultrasonic dispersion to obtain graphene oxide dispersion, and then adding 25-125 pts. wt. copper nitrate trihydrate into 100 pts. wt. deionized water with stirring. The pH is adjusted with concentrated aqueous ammonia with stirring to form a stable copper ammonia solution. The cuprous ammonia solution is added to the graphene oxide dispersion with stirring at room temperature for 30-60 minutes, and heated at 50-80 degrees C for 1-4 hours. The reaction is transferred to a high pressure reactor at 120-180 degrees C for 2-10 hours to carry out hydrothermal reduction reaction. The resulting reaction solution is cooled down to room temperature, where the supernatant is removed to give solid. The solid is washed with deionized water, filtered with suction, naturally dried at room temperature, freeze-dried and then calcined under argon protection for 4 hours to give the copper oxide-graphene composite material.
