NOVELTY - The device has a sensing unit for sensing target gas, where the sensing unit provides a measurement signal based on concentration of the target gas in an environment of the gas sensing device. A signal calibration unit determines a calibrated measurement value based on the measurement signal and based on a calibration model. The calibration model is based on calibration data of a set of test sensor units having the same type as the sensor unit. A determination unit determines an operational condition of the device. Another determination unit switches the calibration model in response to a change of the operational condition. A data storage holds a baseline value. USE - Gas sensing device e.g. chemiresistor gas sensing device such as metal-oxide- (MOX), polymer- or graphene-based gas sensors, for sensing a target gas. ADVANTAGE - The device provides an improved trade-off between a time- and cost-efficient calibration of the gas sensing device and a high accuracy of the device in determining a concentration of the target gas. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for determining a calibrated measurement value for a concentration of a target gas.
