NOVELTY - A fluid comprises: a base fluid selected from oil-based fluid and/or water-based fluid; and graphene nanoparticles. USE - For improving a property of a fluid where the property is selected from flow assurance properties of the fluid, fluid loss control properties of the fluid, rheological properties of the fluid, stability of the fluid, emulsion stabilization of the fluid, lubricity of the fluid, electrical properties of the fluid and/or thermal properties of the fluid (all claimed); in drilling, completion, production, or remediation operations. ADVANTAGE - The addition of graphene nanoparticles to the base fluid improve properties of the fluid e.g. flow assurance properties of the fluid, fluid loss control properties of the fluid, rheological properties of the fluid, stability of the fluid, lubricity of the fluid, electrical properties of the fluid, viscosity of the fluid or thermal properties of the fluid. The base fluid is easier to assess location, extent of damage, and aid and improve the ability to clean up damage and difficulties caused to the wellbore, the formation, equipment in the wellbore (e.g. stuck pipe), and to remove or resolve problems more completely and easily, without causing additional damage to the formation, wellbore or equipment. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for improving a property of a fluid where the property is selected from the class consisting of flow assurance properties of the fluid, fluid loss control properties of the fluid, rheological properties of the fluid, stability of the fluid, emulsion stabilization of the fluid, lubricity of the fluid, electrical properties of the fluid and/or thermal properties of the fluid, involving: adding graphene nanoparticles to a base fluid where the base fluid is selected from oil-based fluid, and/or water-based fluid.
