NOVELTY - A process for preparing paraquat by homogeneous catalytic oxidation of amethyst comprises mixing pyridine and methanol, dripping methyl chloride, generating N-picoline chloride through pyridine alkylation reaction, generating 1,1-dimethyl-4,4-dihydrobipyridine through dimerization reaction, washing, removing impurities, adding beating water, acid solution and homogeneous catalyst under the condition of stirring at 600-1000 rpm, feeding liquid chlorine and stirring for reacting, filtering, separating the homogeneous catalyst and obtaining paraquat solution. USE - The process is used for preparing paraquat by homogeneous catalytic oxidation of amethyst. ADVANTAGE - The process is carried out under mild conditions, the yield of the product is high, the operation is convenient, the catalyst and the mother liquor can be recycled many times, which can meet the needs of industrial production, greatly reduces the production cost, reduces the material energy consumption, ensures clean production, reduces environmental pollution, and the process meets the requirements of energy saving and environmental protection.
