NOVELTY - The method involves placing a graphene coating layer (120) on an environment-facing surface of an electronic component (110) of the electronic apparatus. The electronic apparatus exhibits a 10 percent improvement in environmental testing performance compared to an otherwise equivalent graphene coating layer-free electronic apparatus. The environmental testing performance has performance in a waterproofness test, acetic acid test, sugar solution test, or methyl alcohol test. USE - Method for increasing service lifetime of electronic apparatus placed within compartment of vehicle or on exterior of vehicle e.g. aerospace vehicle such as aircraft, helicopter, rocket or satellite, spacecraft, airplane, submarine, automobile, and building or used in space, water, air, a toxic chemical environment. ADVANTAGE - The coated electronic component exhibits improved resistance to environmental elements and stimuli without significantly altering or degrading the visibility of the underlying components. The coated electronic component exhibits improved mechanical and environmental performance without alteration of the component's visibility or optical transparency. The graphene coating layer provides improved protection from environmental exposure without significantly increasing the total volume or mass of the electronic component.
