NOVELTY - A composite material comprises thermosetting polymer reinforced with natural fabric. USE - Composite material used for forming multilayer armor and multilayer ballistic system (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composite material is resistant to protect against rifle shots (caliber 7.62 mm) with high impact power and has ballistic performance, and maintains its integrity for protection against subsequent rifle fire. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: manufacture of composite material, which involves accommodating the ramie fabric functionalized with graphene oxide, corresponding to the desired proportion of 30 vol.% within a suitable metallic mold, and adding still-fluid graphene oxide functionalized polyester resin and cover the mold; multilayer armor, which comprises the composite plate bonded with polyurethane adhesive to a ceramic front layer, responsible for eroding the projectile and attenuating its impact; and composite in the multilayer ballistic system, which function of capturing ceramic and projectile fragments resulting from frontal impact.
