NOVELTY - Preparing sponge with photocatalytic function, comprises (i) placing sponge in absolute ethanol for ultrasonic cleaning for 10 minutes, then placing in acetone for ultrasonic cleaning for 10 minutes, drying, then placing in water for ultrasonic cleaning for 10 minutes, drying, immersing the sponge in cationic acrylamide solution, stirring for 24 hours, taking out the sponge, and rinsing with excess cationic acrylamide solution on the surface with water to obtain cationic acrylamide modified sponge, (ii) immersing the cationic acrylamide-modified sponge in graphene oxide solution for 10 minutes, then rinsing the residual graphene oxide on surface with water and drying to obtain sponge with surface assembled with graphene oxide, and (iii) immersing sponge with surface assembled with graphene oxide into nano-titanium dioxide dispersion, adding tetrabutyl titanate, stirring for 24 hours, washing off the excess nano-titanium dioxide dispersion with water, and drying. USE - The sponge with photocatalytic function is useful as filter for air and water. ADVANTAGE - The sponge: is porous; has ability to decompose pollutants under visible light; and achieves the purpose of purifying air and water.
