NOVELTY - A two-dimensional nano structure electrolyte additive comprises organic or inorganic nano sheet comprising nano structure material and two-dimensional covalent organic framework material(s) having thickness of less than 10 nm. The nano structure material comprises boron nitride, graphene oxide and transition metal sulfide nano sheet. USE - Two-dimensional nano structure additive for electrolyte of alkali metal battery (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The additive improves the cycle stability and safety of the batteries. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) preparation of the additive; and (2) nonaqueous alkali metal battery electrolyte, which comprises electrolyte salt, nonaqueous organic solvent and the additive.
