NOVELTY - Cobalt-based/graphene composite catalyst comprises graphene module and cobalt selenide nanomaterials loaded on the graphene module. The composite catalyst is two-dimensional sheet structure. USE - The composite catalyst is useful for degradation of hydrazine or hydrazine hydrate (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is simple and easy to control; does not utilize surfactant; has mild reaction conditions; saves energy; and is suitable for industrial production. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing the cobalt-based/graphene composite catalyst, comprising taking cobalt source and selenium source, then adding the cobalt source and selenium source into a solvent, adding graphene solution to the resulting reaction system under stirring condition to obtain a mixed solution, continuously stirring for 15-30 minutes, placing the mixed solution in polytetrafluoroethylene reaction kettle, closing the reaction kettle, then placing in a drying tank, reacting at 160-200 degrees C, maintaining reaction time to 12-24 hours, after completing the reaction, cooling to room temperature, collecting the solid product, washing, and drying to obtain the cobalt based/graphene composite catalyst.
