NOVELTY - Preparation of alkyl-functionalized graphene quantum dot, involves carrying out alkylation of graphene, dispersing graphite powder in tetrahydrofuran solution, adding lithium and naphthalene, dripping halogenated organic reagent, stirring, adding ethanol to treat unreacted lithium, washing, filtering, drying, dispersing in water to obtain alkyl functionalized graphene, adding dimethylformamide solution, ultrasonically processing, heating, cooling the reactor to room temperature, collecting brown supernatant, spin drying with a rotary evaporator to obtain final product. USE - Method for preparing alkyl-functionalized graphene quantum dot. ADVANTAGE - The method enables preparation of alkyl-functionalized graphene quantum dot with uniform size and excellent dispersibility in water and organic solvent. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Method for preparing alkyl-functionalized graphene quantum dot, involves (1) carrying out alkylation of graphene under nitrogen protection, adding graphite powder and tetrahydrofuran solution to a round bottom flask, ultrasonically processing for 3-5 minutes, dispersing graphite powder in tetrahydrofuran solution, then adding lithium and naphthalene for 40-50 minutes, dripping halogenated organic reagent in the reaction solution at rate of 0.3 ml/minute until the dark green electron solution is disappeared, continuously stirring for 12 hours, adding ethanol to treat unreacted lithium, washing with toluene, ethanol and water, suction filtering, finally obtaining solid powder, drying in a vacuum oven at 60 degrees C for 12 hours to obtain alkylation product, dispersing alkyl functionalized graphene in water to obtain alkyl functionalized graphene, (2) adding alkyl-functionalized graphene to dimethylformamide solution, ultrasonically processing for 3 hours in PTFE liner reactor, heating at 150-200 degrees C for 20 hours at rate of 10 degrees C/minute, cooling the reactor to room temperature, collecting brown supernatant as alkyl functionalized graphene quantum dot dispersion liquid, spin drying the alkyl functionalized graphene quantum dot dispersion liquid with a rotary evaporator to obtain alkyl-functionalized graphene quantum dots.
