NOVELTY - Aqueous graphene material suspension comprises: liquid suspension medium comprising more than 50 wt.% water; at least one graphene material; and at least one anionic surfactant with a part it being present as functionalizing the graphene material. USE - The suspension is useful: for producing conductive films; as nanocomposite for preparing fuel barrier material in the automotive field and for preparing thermally conductive, antistatic and barrier polymer materials which are useful as for solid parts or polymer coatings on substrates; in masterbatch; and for producing composition which is useful for solid parts or coatings and for the production of battery electrodes (all claimed); for manufacturing fuel tanks and pipes. ADVANTAGE - The process provides the polymer exhibits improved properties such as mechanical, barrier and electrical properties. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) manufacturing aqueous chemically reduced graphene oxide suspension, comprising: forming aqueous graphene oxide suspension comprising graphene oxide, liquid suspension medium, and at least one anionic surfactant, where the weight ratio of the anionic surfactant and the graphene oxide is less than 1, preferably 0.05-0.2, then adding at least one reducing agent to the aqueous graphene oxide suspension, then optionally, heating at a temperature below or equal to 100 degrees C; (2) manufacturing graphene material-polymer nanocomposite, preferably chemically reduced graphene oxide-polymer nanocomposite from an aqueous material graphene suspension, preferably aqueous chemically reduced graphene oxide suspension and monomer(s), comprising addition of monomer(s) to the suspension and polymerization of the monomer(s) to yield the nanocomposite; (3) masterbatch obtainable by the process, where the graphene material is present at above 3 wt.%, preferably 10-20 wt.%; and (4) producing composition comprising chemically reduced graphene oxide and at least one polymer, comprising mixing an aqueous polymer latex to a suspension or suspension, co-coagulation of the obtained mixture or coating of the obtained mixture on a substrate.
