NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene oxide / quaternary amine polyethyleneimine nanocomposite material involves mixing prepared graphene oxide powder containing sodium nitrate, potassium permanganate and graphene oxide, thionyl chloride and N,N-dimethylformamide, reacting mixture to obtain acid chlorinated graphene, reacting acid chlorinated graphene with prepared quaternized polyethylenimine containing benzyl chloride in anhydrous N,N-dimethylformamide at 75-95 degrees C for 10-13 hours, cooling reacted mixture to room temperature, centrifuging cooled product, separating solid material from cooled product, washing obtained product and drying washed product. USE - Preparation of graphene oxide / quaternary amine polyethyleneimine nanocomposite material used as algaecide in purified water (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The preparation of graphene oxide / quaternary amine polyethyleneimine nanocomposite material is simple, economical and environmentally-friendly. The nanocomposite material has excellent algae removal effect. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of graphene oxide / quaternary amine polyethyleneimine nanocomposite material involves adding graphene powder, sodium nitrate and potassium permanganate to 98% concentrated sulfuric acid, heating mixture at 30-70 degrees C for 1-4 hours, stirring heated mixture at 110-130 rpm, adding water to stirred mixture to obtain mixed system, heating mixture at 70-90 degrees C for 25-30 minutes, adding aqueous hydrogen peroxide to mixed system, stirring mixture for 2-6 hours, centrifuging mixed system to obtain reaction mixture, washing obtained product, ultrasonic crushing washed product, freeze drying crushed product to obtain graphene oxide powder, (b) adding propylene oxide to aqueous solution of polyethyleneimine, stirring mixture at room temperature for 9-14 hours, stirring mixture again at 30-40 degrees C for 0.5-2 hours, adding benzyl chloride to stirred mixture, reacting mixture at 45-60 degrees C for 9-14 hours, extracting heated mixture using ether, taking organic phase from extract, drying product to obtain quaternized polyethyleneimine, and (c) mixing graphene oxide powder, thionyl chloride and N,N-dimethylformamide, reacting mixture at 60-80 degrees C for 18-30 hours to obtain acid chlorinated graphene, reacting acid chlorinated graphene with quaternized polyethylenimine in anhydrous N,N-dimethylformamide at 75-95 degrees C for 10-13 hours, cooling reacted mixture to room temperature, centrifuging cooled product, separating solid material, washing solid material and drying washed product.
