NOVELTY - A halide-doped carbon/sulfur anode material comprises a halide crystal, a conductive carbon-based material, and elemental sulfur. The elemental sulfur and the halide crystal are dispersed in the conductive carbon-based material. USE - The halide-doped carbon/sulfur material is useful for forming anode for lithium-sulfur battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The halide-doped carbon/sulfur anode material has improved conductivity by doping and modifying the carbon/sulfur composite material with halide, and improves charging/discharging capacity and cycle stability of the lithium-sulfur battery. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of the halide-doped carbon/sulfur anode material, which involves (i) dissolving halide in water to obtain a halide aqueous solution, (ii) mixing an oil phase, a surfactant and the halide aqueous solution and emulsifying, (iii) adding the conductive carbon-based material to the emulsified system and stirring the obtained microemulsion system, heating in a water bath while stirring the microemulsion system, drying and calcining to obtain a halide-doped conductive carbon-based material, (iv) mixing sublimated sulfur with the halide-doped conductive carbon-based material, and (v) calcining in a nitrogen atmosphere to sublime and diffuse the sublimated sulfur.
