NOVELTY - Cathode active material comprises 70-90 pts. wt. graphene porous silicon composite material, 5-25 pts. wt. adhesive, and 1-5 pts. wt. conductive agent. The adhesive is prepared by polymerizing a hydroxy-containing material and a carboxy-containing material. The hydroxy-containing material is carboxymethylcellulose, vinyl alcohol, polyvinyl alcohol, chitosan, and/or cyclodextrin. The carboxy-containing material is acrylic acid, polyacrylic acid, vinyl acetate, polyvinyl acetate, alginic acid, a salt of alginic acid, and/or humic acid. The hydroxy-containing material includes a cyclic compound, and/or, the carboxy-containing material includes a cyclic compound. The cyclic compound included in the hydroxy-containing material is carboxymethylcellulose, chitosan, and/or cyclodextrin. The cyclic compound included in the carboxy-containing material is alginic acid, alginate, and/or humic acid. the nano silicon dioxide is nano spherical silicon micro powder. USE - The cathode active material is useful in cathode for lithium-ion battery (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The cathode active material has a three-dimensional cross-linked network structure, improved cycle stability and capacity retention of the electrode and provides an effective buffer space for the lithium intercalation expansion of silicon under the condition of ensuring the electrode capacity, and effectively solves the problem of volume expansion of the silicon electrode.
