▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - A graphene oxide is produced by locating graphite particles within electrochemical cell having working electrode (125), counter electrode (145), and aqueous acid electrolyte (115), positioning working electrode within electrolyte to contact greater than or equal to 1 portion of graphite particles (120), agitating graphite particles within electrolyte, and applying potential difference between working electrode and counter electrode that results in electrochemical exfoliation and oxidation of graphite particles to produce graphene oxide. USE - Production of graphene oxide (claimed). ADVANTAGE - Explosive risks and metal ion contamination are prevented. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) production apparatus (100) of graphene oxide comprising fluid housing which houses aqueous acid electrolyte (115), working electrode (125) which is positioned within electrolyte and engages graphite particles (120) located in apparatus, counter electrode (145) which is separated from working electrode and graphite particles, potentiostat which creates potential difference between working electrode and counter electrode, and agitation arrangement which agitates graphite particles within electrolyte; (2) graphene oxide; and (3) electrochemically derived graphene oxide comprising oxygen functionalities that consist of hydroxy and epoxy groups. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The drawings show a schematic and perspective view of the mechanically-assisted electrochemical setup.
