NOVELTY - Lubricant composition comprises: a base oil or a fully formulated lubricant; and graphene nanoparticles derived from a carbon containing gas dispersed in the base oil or the fully formed lubricant. USE - The composition is useful as concentrate or a finished lubricant (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composition: reduces friction, wear and corrosion; improves heat transfer between mechanical components; provides heat protection to mechanical components; has enhanced properties e.g. having increased lubricity, and/or co-efficient of friction to provide enhanced protection to mechanical components; is substantially free of graphene oxide and/or reduced graphene oxide; exhibits improved wear protection, heat transfer and mechanical heat protection; and reduces corrosion of mechanical components. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMs are also included for: (1) preparing a lubricant composition comprising dispersing graphene nanoparticles derived from a carbon containing gas in a base oil or a fully formulated lubricant; and (2) lubricant composition is formed by above method.
