NOVELTY - Multifunctional thin bituminous layer, based on a bituminous mixture, comprises bitumen, an additive composition, and inorganic inert materials, the additive composition comprises at least one polyolefin plastic material and optionally graphene, where the multifunctional thin bituminous layer has a thickness ≤ 5 cm, the inorganic inert materials comprises aggregates, optionally in combination with at least one filler, the aggregates comprises fine aggregates, the fine aggregates having a particle size ≤ 2 mm and higher than 0.063 mm, as measured according to standard method. USE - The multifunctional bituminous thin layer is useful in an infrastructure element, preferably in road surface treatments or as an intermediate layer placed inside road pavements, where the infrastructural element being a road, a parking area, a container yard area, a bridge deck, a viaduct, an airport runway, preferably an airstrip, a taxiway, an apron or an airport junction, a heliport, a tramway or railway track, a cycle path, a road intersection, a port quay or a port handling yard, an intermediate layer placed inside the road pavement (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The multifunctional bituminous thin layer: exhibit high mechanical performance; exhibit considerable economic saving; and prolongs the useful life of road pavement. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for producing a multifunctional thin bituminous layer and its application to an infrastructural element, comprising providing an additive composition comprising at least one polyolefin plastic material and optionally graphene, optionally, mixing the additive composition with bitumen, adding to inert inorganic materials, under stirring and at a temperature of 130-200° C, the additive composition and bitumen, optionally previously mixed together, obtaining a bituminous mixture, applying the bituminous mixture thus obtained to an infrastructural element at a temperature of 110-200° C, obtaining a multifunctional thin bituminous layer, where the multifunctional thin bituminous layer has a thickness ≤ 5 cm.
