NOVELTY - Graphene modified graphite cathode material comprises graphite precursor, graphene slurry, asphalt, where the graphite precursor comprising petroleum coke, asphalt coke, and/or needle coke, the graphene slurry is a dispersed suspension, the graphene contains 1-3 wt.% dispersant, the dispersant is NMP, the number of graphene layer is less than 10 layers, and the average grain diameter D50 of the graphite precursor is 2-10 mu m. USE - Used as graphene modified graphite cathode material. ADVANTAGE - The material: has excellent index parameter, multiplying power charging and discharging performance, excellent comprehensive performance. The method is simple, economical and easy to operate; and uses wide raw material sources. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing graphene modified graphite cathode material comprising (i) mixing the graphite precursor with graphene slurry, where the mass ratio of the graphite precursor to the graphene is 90:10-99:1, (ii) orderly drying the material obtained in step (i) at a certain temperature, scattering, and sieving, (iii) mixing the mixture material obtained in the step (ii) with the asphalt, where the mass ratio of the mixed material to the asphalt is 70:30-99:1, (iv) granulating with proper temperature under the protection of inert gas, (v) carbonizing the material obtained in step (iv), (vi) graphitizing the material obtained in step (v), (vii) using the mixture of hard carbon and soft carbon to modify the surface of the graphitized processing material, (viii) performing secondary carbonization treatment of the material obtained in the step (vii), and then processing as same as the step (v), and (ix) sieving the material obtained in the step (viii).
