▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - A bipolar electrode comprises (a) a current collector comprising a conductive material foil having thickness of 10 nm-100 μ m and two opposing primary surfaces, and (b) a negative electrode layer and a positive electrode layer respectively arranged on the two primary surfaces, each in physical contact with the layer of graphene or expanded graphite material or in direct contact with a primary surface of the conductive material foil. The positive electrode layer comprises a mixture of particles of a cathode active material and a quasi- solid or solid-state electrolyte and the electrolyte comprises a polymer, which is a polymerization or crosslinking product of a reactive additive. The reactive additive comprises (i) 1-99 wt.% liquid solvent (S1) that is polymerizable, (ii) an initiator or curing agent, and (iii) a lithium salt. One or both of the primary surfaces is coated with a layer of graphene or expanded graphite material having a thickness from 1 nm-50 μ m. USE - Bipolar electrode used in bipolar lithium battery e.g. lithium metal secondary battery, lithium-ion battery, lithium-sulfur battery, lithium-ion sulfur battery, lithium-selenium battery and lithium-air battery (all claimed). Uses include but are not limited to electric vehicle (EV), hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), lap-top computers, and mobile phones. ADVANTAGE - The battery containing electrode is non-flammable and safe. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: bipolar lithium battery; and production of bipolar electrode. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The drawing shows a schematic view of the bipolar lithium-ion battery.
