▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Semi-solid electrode, comprises 35-75 vol.% an active material, 0.5-8 vol.% conductive material, 0.2-5 vol.% carbon additive different from the conductive material, and all are mixed with a non-aqueous electrolyte to form the semi-solid electrode. USE - Semi-solid electrode used in electrochemical cell (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The semi-solid electrode enables to increase the overall energy density of the battery by eliminating or reducing components that are not contributing to the overall performance of the battery, and has superior rate capability and charge capacity of electrochemical cells. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for following: (1) A method for manufacturing a semi-solid electrode, which involves preparing a semi-solid electrode mixture in a non-aqueous liquid electrolyte, milling the active material, the conductive material, and the carbon additive together for 8 minutes with a milling power of less than 10 kW/kg to form active material particles coated in conductive material and carbon additive material, and adding the non-aqueous liquid electrolyte to the active material particles coated in conductive material and carbon additive material to form the semi-solid electrode, where the semi-solid electrode has a conductivity of 60 mS/cm, and a yield strength of less than 100 kPa. (2) An electrochemical cell, which comprises a first electrode material provided on a first current collector, where the first electrode comprises 35-75 vol.% active material, 0.5-8 vol.% conductive material, and 0.5-5 vol.% carbon additive, the second electrode material provided on a second current collector, and a separator provided between the first electrode material and the second electrode material, where electrochemical cell retains 60% of its initial discharge capacity after 1,000 cycles at a C-rate of C/4.
