NOVELTY - Manufacture of oriented ceramic sintered compact involves preparing raw material powder containing plate-shaped particles and graphene, producing process powder containing graphene-coated board-like particles by coating portion(s) of surface of the plate-shaped particles with graphene in the raw material powder, mixing the process powder and a solvent, preparing a slurry, applying magnetic field to the slurry to orient the graphene-coated board-like particles in a predetermined direction, removing solvent in the slurry, preparing molded article, and calcining the molded article. USE - Manufacture of oriented ceramic sintered compact. ADVANTAGE - The method enables efficient manufacture of oriented ceramic sintered compact having controllable structure, in which sintered particles are intensively orientated even in low-magnetic field. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Manufacture of oriented ceramic sintered compact involves preparing raw material powder containing plate-shaped particles and graphene, producing process powder containing graphene-coated board-like particles by coating portion(s) of surface of the plate-shaped particles with graphene in the raw material powder, mixing the process powder and a solvent, preparing a slurry, applying magnetic field to the slurry to orient the graphene-coated board-like particles in a predetermined direction, removing and/or solidifying the solvent in the slurry, preparing molded article in which the plate-shaped particles are oriented in predetermined direction, and calcining the molded article to produce sintered compact in which portion(s) of sintered particles are oriented.
