NOVELTY - The preparation of highly dispersed graphene oxide reinforced epoxy resin adhesive, involves (1) reacting graphite powder, concentrated sulfuric acid, aqueous phosphoric acid solution and potassium permanganate, stirring, heating and cooling, adding distilled water to dilute, adding hydrogen peroxide at room temperature until color turns golden yellow and no bubbles are generated, centrifuging, pouring supernatant and bottom black material, (2) washing product of step (1) using distilled water, centrifuging and decanting supernatant, (3) repeating step (2) until pH of supernatant is greater than or equal to 5, centrifuging, decanting supernatant to obtain viscous graphene oxide suspension, (4) mixing viscous graphene oxide suspension with liquid epoxy resin, dispersing mixture, grinding, vacuum drying, removing residual water, and mixing graphene oxide/epoxy resin mixture with curing agent and stirring. USE - Preparation of highly dispersed graphene oxide reinforced epoxy resin adhesive. ADVANTAGE - The method enables preparation of highly dispersed graphene oxide reinforced epoxy resin adhesive by simple and environmentally-friendly process. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The preparation of highly dispersed graphene oxide reinforced epoxy resin adhesive, involves (1) reacting graphite powder, 98%mass concentrated sulfuric acid, 85 %mass aqueous phosphoric acid solution and potassium permanganate, stirring in ice water bath for 20-60 minutes, heating at 45-50 degrees C for 8-20 hours and naturally cooling to room temperature, adding 500-1000 mL distilled water to dilute, adding hydrogen peroxide at room temperature until color turns golden yellow and no bubbles are generated, centrifuging at 2000-4000 rpm for 10-30 minutes, pouring supernatant and bottom black material, (2) washing the product of step (1) using distilled water, centrifuging for 20-60 minutes at 8000-10000 rpm and decanting the supernatant, (3) repeating step (2) until pH of supernatant after centrifugation is greater than or equal to 5, centrifuging, decanting supernatant to obtain viscous graphene oxide suspension, the mass ratio of graphite powder and concentrated sulfuric acid is 1:(30-150), the mass ratio of graphite powder and phosphoric acid aqueous solution is 1:(3-15), the mass ratio of graphite powder and potassium permanganate is 1:(5-15), (4) mixing viscous graphene oxide suspension prepared in step (1) with liquid epoxy resin, dispersing mixture at 1000-3000 rpm for 5-20 minutes using high speed emulsifier, pouring mixture into three roll mill, grinding to particle size of 0.1-30 mu m until the mixture is brown-black transparent, placing brown-black transparent in vacuum drying oven, removing residual water at 40-80 degrees C, the mass ratio of liquid epoxy resin and pure graphene oxide suspension in viscous graphene oxide suspension prepared in step (1) is 100:(0.1-5), mixing graphene oxide/epoxy resin mixture with curing agent and stirring evenly.
