▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Antifungal formulation comprises miconazole nitrate loaded on nano sized graphene oxide sheets. USE - The antifungal formulation is useful for controlled release of miconazole nitrate. ADVANTAGE - The formulation has entrapment efficiency of 85-86%, drug release efficiency of 20% after 24 hours, controlled release of miconazole nitrate occur over time and enhanced bio-availability of miconazole nitrate. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for process for preparing the formulation, which involves (a) dispersing excess miconazole nitrate in dimethyl formamide at 37 degrees C in a water bath for 30 minutes, (b) immobilizing miconazole nitrate on the graphene oxide sheets, (c) mixing the dispersed miconazole nitrate and immobilized miconazole nitrate along with the remaining amount of miconazole nitrate at 37 degrees C for 12 hours, and (d) dialyzing the above mixture with phosphate buffer saline having pH of 7.4 at 37 degrees C for 24 hours, where molecular weight cutoff of 7 kD is used to get rid of dimethyl formamide, dissolved miconazole nitrate and miconazole nitrate on surface of the graphene oxide sheets.
